Post-Construction

Post-Construction Cleaning in Avon, OH

The hardest residue in residential cleaning is drywall dust. A standard clean smears it. Removing it takes HEPA filtration, microfiber, and a fixed pass order — never one or the other.

Post-construction vacuum cleaning of hardwood floor in Avon, OH home

Why post-construction is a separate service

Drywall dust, sanded joint compound, and silica from tile and grout work behave differently than household soil. They are extremely fine, electrostatically clingy, and resettle within minutes of being disturbed. A regular vacuum without HEPA filtration recirculates them into the room. A regular mop pad with regular cleaner smears them across the floor.

Post-construction cleaning is what we deploy after a basement finish, kitchen remodel, addition, or full repaint anywhere in Avon, Westlake, Bay Village, or the rest of our service area.

Our post-construction pass order

Order matters. Doing the floors before the ceilings means doing the floors twice. We work top to bottom, dry to wet, in three full passes.

  • Pass 1 — HEPA vacuum every horizontal and vertical surface, ceilings down to floors, including inside cabinets, inside drawers, inside closets, and HVAC register faces.
  • Pass 2 — microfiber damp wipe every surface vacuumed in pass 1, in the same top-down order, with fresh cloths swapped at every room boundary.
  • Pass 3 — detail pass on glass, fixtures, hardware, mirrors, and stainless. Polish marks removed. Final HEPA vacuum on floors.

What we do not do

Post-construction cleaning is not debris removal. We do not haul construction debris, demo trash, drywall scraps, or used materials — that is the GC's responsibility. We arrive on a job site that has been broom-swept and is otherwise empty of trade work.

We also do not do the rough construction clean (the in-progress sweep between trades). We do the final, before-occupancy clean.

Scheduling around your contractor

Book the post-construction clean for the day after the last trade leaves and the day before you move furniture back in. We do not work alongside trades — dust they kick up undoes our work in real time.

For ongoing remodel relationships with Avon-area GCs and design-build firms, we hold scheduling slots and can be on a project's calendar months in advance.

Pricing

FAQ

Frequently asked

How is post-construction different from a deep clean?
A deep clean removes household soil. Post-construction removes construction dust and residue, which require HEPA vacuums, microfiber damp passes, and a specific top-down pass order. A deep clean on a post-construction site looks wiped down but feels gritty within a day.
Can you clean during construction?
No. We schedule for after the last trade leaves and before you move furniture in. Cleaning during active work doubles the labor without improving the outcome.
Do you clean ducts or HVAC?
We clean register faces and grilles. Inside-the-duct cleaning is a separate trade with specialized equipment; we will refer one.
How long does post-construction cleaning take?
A finished basement (~1,000 sq ft) takes a two-person team most of a day. A full kitchen remodel takes 4–6 hours. Addition and full-home remodels are multi-day jobs that we schedule in advance.
Will dust come back after you leave?
Some settled dust will lift again the first few times the HVAC runs. Replace the HVAC filter the day we finish and run the system for 24 hours; the second wave is dramatically less than the first.
